Data Security

All our customers' data is protected at a number of levels with hardware and software controls as well as sophisticated data protection and data security policies and procedures.

Our Data Centre has has a 24-hour manned, secure visitor reception area, responsible for verification of visitor ID, supported by 24x7 monitoring by comprehensive external CCTV surveillance and intruder detection alarms

Optima's servers are protected by hardware firewalls from Juniper Networks. These are integrated "Deep Inspection" firewalls for application-level attack protection.

Optima's servers use state-of-the-art anti-virus software that has heuristic capability built into its standard detection methods allowing it to detect some virus variants which have not yet even been fully analysed.

Optima operate an 'on demand' application backup routine which takes place at a minimum rate of one backup per day. All application data is backed up and stored at a secure offsite location.

All data transmitted between our servers and the your users' web browsers is subject to 128-bit encryption using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL is an industry-standard method of passing sensitive information between computers over the Internet. It works by encrypting the transmitted data, so that anyone who obtains a copy cannot reproduce the original information.

All OSHENS applications employ a username and password access system. Our systems automatically log out users where the period of inactivity reaches 30 minutes.

The management of system users takes place within a dedicated administration area accessible only to users with administration permissions. The user administration infrastructure is based on a cascading permission system.
